Committed to mandatory registration for hairdressers and barbers, The Hair and Barber Councils’ main focus is to lobby the UK Government to achieve this goal.
As the ONLY Statutory Authority for the Hair and Barber Sector, our remit is to represent the industry at the highest level at Westminster and the Devolved Assemblies.
With hair professionals under greater pressure than ever before mandatory regulation has never been more important as by speaking with one, strong voice, we are able to get the respect and support our sector deserves.
Mandatory regulation also gives the consumer confidence that their hair professional is trained, unlike the current situation where anyone, with no training or qualifications can trade.
“The UK is one of the very few countries, which does not require that hairdressers and barbers are regulated by government in order to protect the public and maintain professional standards throughout the industry.
