Latest financial update from Rishi Sunak the Chancellor of the Exchequer

To support businesses impacted by Omicron, the Chancellor announced on Tuesday 21 December further financial help.

The personal care sector will be eligible to apply for:
– An additional £100m in Additional Restrictions Grants via their local authority (England only)
– The Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme for Covid-related absences (UK wide)

The Sick Pay Rebate is available to businesses with less than 250 employees. Employers can be reimbursed for the cost of Statutory Sick Pay for up to 2 weeks per employee. The scheme is open from today with claims able to be made retrospectively from mid-January.
