Peter Belcher – A True Gentleman

It was with immense sadness that I heard on Friday 3 December of the unexpected passing of Peter Belcher. To say Peter was a stalwart of our industry is a huge understatement as he had given many decades of his career, and in his retirement, to the commitment of our industry.

I first met Peter many years ago when I joined Clynol as a Technical Consultant, he was then a sales manager for the company, and although I never worked directly for Peter, he always showed me great kindness and his support was always there. He had a tremendous wit and he was the truest of professionals, always calm and collected and the ultimate professional.

His passing is a huge loss to the industry, so many of the ‘greats’ of our sector are sadly passing as the years go by, and as we enter into a completely new era for the industry post pandemic, his knowledge, background, experience and love for our industry is something I and many others will treasure for the rest of our lives.

My sincerest condolences go to his lovely wife Liz and all of Peter’s family, the industry will be the less without him, but my thoughts go back to all the good he gave to the hairdressing industry over many decades.

Rest in peace Peter, your kind and generous spirit will live on for many years to come.
